Critical Safety Rules
Prevent permanent display damage with these essential precautions:
- Never leave static images displayed: When showing unchanged content, set the display to sleep mode or completely power off. Extended high voltage can cause irreversible film damage.
- Handle the FPC with extreme care: The flexible printed circuit cables at the screen base are delicate. Never pull, tear, or repeatedly bend vertically. During debugging, securely clamp and fix cables in place.
- Verify operating voltage: Most displays operate at 3.3V. If your system uses 5V, implement proper level conversion to prevent display burnout.
Troubleshooting & Debugging
Practical solutions for common issues:
- Display abnormalities: If the image appears pixelated or blurry, first check the image extraction mode and replace the image data in the program.
- Initial testing: When receiving a new display, strongly recommended to first test with official example programs and compatible development boards.
- Full refresh flickering: This is a normal characteristic of E-Ink technology and expected behavior.
- Color variations in cold temperatures: If colors appear abnormal after refreshing in cold environments, let the display sit at 25°C (room temperature) for 6 hours, then refresh to restore normal display.

- Regular use: It is recommended to perform a full-screen refresh every 24 hours for multi-color and color displays, and once per week for black-and-white displays.
