E-Paper NFC User Guide
Near Field Communication + electronic ink technology. No battery, no internet — just tap your phone against the display to update content. Ideal for electronic shelf labels, desk signs, name badges, warehouse tags, and more.
1. E-Paper NFC Key Features
NFC‑powered battery‑free e‑paper enables instant refresh and long‑term image retention without cables or charging. (Samsung and Google phones are temporarily not supported)
Field‑powered
Harvests energy from your phone’s NFC field to both power and transfer data — no batteries, no wiring.
Ultra‑low power
Consumes energy only during refresh. Once updated, the image stays for years without any power drain.
Simple operation
Turn on NFC, tap the tag area — content updates instantly. No pairing, no network required.
2. NFC Antenna Location by Phone Brand
Different brands/models have different NFC sweet spots. Align your phone’s NFC zone with the e‑paper tag. Reference guide below:
Upper‑middle back, just below the camera module (Mate, P, Nova series)
Upper‑middle back, below or to the right of camera (Magic, Digital, X series)
Upper‑middle back, below camera module, middle‑upper area
Upper‑middle back, directly above/below camera (K series, Note Pro)
Upper‑middle back, below or right side of camera; iQOO often left/below module
Upper‑middle back, directly under camera module (Find, Reno, GT series)
XR~15: top back, above/right near camera; iPhone 8/X: center top edge
Exact center of the back (vertical/horizontal) – some old models have NFC logo
Middle‑upper back, below camera or near fingerprint sensor

Quick tip to find your NFC sweet spot:
1. Turn on NFC in settings. 2. Use a physical access card / transit card and gently tap different areas on the back of your phone. 3. Where the phone vibrates or beeps is the optimal NFC zone.
3. Important NFC Usage Notes
- NFC must be enabled: Settings → Connections / Connection & sharing → NFC.
- Keep phone and e‑paper tightly together. Do not move until “updating” finishes and new content appears.
- Avoid metal cases, thick covers or magnetic cases — they block NFC signals.
- Ensure sufficient battery (>10%). Power saving mode may restrict NFC performance.
- Refresh one e‑paper at a time. Stacking multiple tags causes interference.
- Effective NFC distance ≤ 2cm. Firm contact required for reliable transmission.
- Security tip: turn off NFC when not in use to save battery and avoid unintended tags.
4. Standard NFC E-Paper Workflow
- ① Open phone settings, enable NFC (search “NFC” for quick access).
- ② Launch the companion app, edit your content (text, image, QR code) and confirm.
- ③ Align phone’s NFC sweet spot with the e‑paper tag’s sensing area (see guide above).
- ④ Hold steady until e‑paper shows “updating” and phone vibrates/beeps. Do NOT move until new content appears.
- ⑤ After refresh completes, slowly remove the phone. The e‑paper will retain the image permanently without power.
Troubleshooting: If refresh fails, check: ① NFC enabled? ② Remove phone case & realign. ③ Restart NFC. ④ Make sure phone has enough battery to power the tag.
