I still recall the very year of 2011 when we just started promoting the first 2.04 inch E-paper display that was a dot matrix type to the market. At that time, the resolution was only 172x72 but now more than ten years have passed, we see the largest E-paper display has reached 42 inch, with a resolution of 2160 x 2880. E-paper has also entered thousands of households from a mysterious product that was little known to the public to now turning into some digital word learning cards or some E-readers. As a pioneer in the industry, Good Display has witnessed the entirety of the history of E-paper displays and has made great progress. People often ask us why a company located in Dalian can be so outstanding in the E-paper industry, and what is the secret of managing this all? Where does our foundation of development come from?  I did think about it seriously, with an answer to the question is that we have been listening to our customers, trying our best to find what they desperately need during using E-paper displays, and we make a promise of constantly solving them.

In 2013, it was not easy for customers to find controllers to help them use E-paper displays for development at a reasonable cost, so we worked out our first E-paper driver board for STM32. Although the design of it at that time was very simple, it tackled the needs, so it was a big hit and well received by our customers. Since then, we have successively developed more kits and adapter boards for different platforms like Arduino (including Arduino UNO, ESP32, ESP8266), Raspberry Pi and worked out NFC solution and some other targeting at IoT. We are the first company in China to actively promote E-paper display with driver solutions at on full-out level. We have nurtured numerous users at home and abroad and have been educating them about E-paper displays. We won the first battle and kept moving forward on the road of finding and solving more customer needs.

Everybody knows that biggest also amazing feature of E-paper-it is bi-stable. In the case of no power, the screen can still retain the content. This feature also brings a disadvantage that the refresh rate is relatively slow since it takes 3-4 seconds to update an image. However, some applications suitable for E-paper also require a fast update for the contents, which we see as another desperate customer need. Since 2014, starting from the 1.54 inch GDEP015OC1, ensuring the display effect, efforts have been made to achieve a partial refresh rate of 0.3s/frame. After the launch of this model that supports partial refresh, it has been supported by a large number of customers. Therefore, we have continuously launched E-paper in other sizes, and sorted out partial refresh and fast refresh waveforms, allowing the use of LUTs to achieve faster update rate. Now there are 2.13 inch, 2.66 inch, 2.9 inch, 3.1 inch, 3.7 inch, 4.2 inch, 4.26 inch, 5.79 inch, 5.83 inch models with fast refresh. Given that the waveform files of each batch of E-paper products will be different and it is too much work for customers to call different waveform files for different batches every time, we took a nice measure to directly burn the waveform files into the chip using OTP so customers can directly call the internal OTP waveform files using easy CMD to achieve the same aim.

Good Display we believe the core value that constantly identifying the pain points and solving them is to continuously create value, and only when an enterprise continuously creates value can it be possible to maintain and develop. Today, we continue to tackle customer needs in the increasing market: products that can display normally in sunlight, that can work in a wider temperature range, that can support touch, that can work in dark environments, and even can be provided with complete solutions. Hereby, we promise with more efforts and endeavors to be invested because our mission is: to solve user pain points with "love and professionalism" and with our displays that truly satisfies users, and let technology make our life better.
