1. Why do we convert images to arrays??

Converting an image to an array is an important task to train a machine learning model based on the features of an image.

2. What are the different methods converting images to arrays ?
Currently, there are various converting methods, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, choosing a suitable converting software is particularly important. At present, Good Display mainly recommends three methods, and users can make corresponding choices based on their actual situations.

（1）Image2Lcd

* Advantages: Can independently set modulus parameters.

* Disadvantages: Only compatible with Windows systems. Each e-paper display device requires setting various parameters according to the manual. For tricolor images, modulation needs to be done separately for black and red parts.

If you are using the Windows system, Image2Lcd  would be a good choice, because it is universal. However, the ePaper displays use different driver IC, so you need to refer to the instructions corresponding to your e-paper display to configure the parameters.

（2）ImageToEpd

* Advantages: Simple operation with a one-click selection of e-paper display types. No need for complex parameter settings. Capable of directly converting image for the three-color ePaper displays.

* Disadvantages: Only compatible with Windows systems.

"ImageToEpd" is a software developed by Good Display for the convenience of users in converting. This software integrates complex parameter settings internally, requiring users only to select the type of e-paper display. Traditionally, converting three-color images was cumbersome and intricate, involving the separation of the image into two parts using image processing software (such as PhotoShop): one part for black and white and the other for red and white. This software optimizes the modeling of three-color images, eliminating the need for image separation. Users only need to select the three-color image, and this software can automatically generate arrays for the black and red portions, significantly reducing converting time.

(3) Online ePaper converting Tool

* Advantages: Allows for one-click modeling by selecting the ePaper model, eliminating the need for complex parameter settings. It operates as a web-based program, making it compatible with any operating system.

* Disadvantages: For tricolor images, separate converting is required for the black and red portions.

The emergence of the online modeling tool addresses the issue of users unable to perform modeling on systems other than Windows, a limitation present in the other two software options. Additionally, this online tool significantly simplifies the modeling process by enabling users to select the ePaper display model for one-key converting, thereby reducing converting time.
